BarcelonaTech top in Optics according to Best Global Universities Ranking
UPC ranks #2 across the European Union
Best Global Universities Rankings, published by US News, has published its eighth annual release, comparing universities in over 90 countries by focusing on school’s academic research and reputations based on data from Clarivate Analytics. In addition to ranking universities globally, the report analyzes forty-three fields and disciplines based on a battery of indicators linked to research and institutional reputations.
The new release places BarcelonaTech (UPC), the university with which ICFO is affiliated and who grants most of ICFO’s doctoral degrees, the 2nd best university in the area of Optics in the whole European Union. Also, in this area, the UPC is ranked 15th in the world as measured by number of highly cited papers that are among the top 1% most cited in the field. UPC also places notably high in fields such as Civil Engineering, Computer Science, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
