Prestigious honor in recognition of research and leadership

September 20, 2019

Prof. Dr. Jens Biegert has been elected as fellow of the American Physical Society for 2019. The distinct honor is bestowed on less than 0.5 percent of the society’s membership each year.

He was nominated by the APS Division of Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics (DAMOP) “For the development of intense few-cycle mid-infrared sources for the generation of water-window high-order harmonics, and their use in fundamental space-time imaging of the dynamics of molecular structure.”

The American Physical Society is a non-profit membership organization working to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics through its outstanding research journals, scientific meetings, and education, outreach, advocacy, and international activities. APS represents over 51,000 members, including physicists in academia, national laboratories, and industry in the United States and throughout the world.

Congratulations Jens for this well-deserved recognition!
