The ICFO’s SAB member Prof. Van Stryland, distinguished Floridian

The ICFO’s Scientific Advisory Board member, Prof. Eric Van Stryland, has been named one of the 174 most influential Floridians by the Florida Trend, the state’s top business magazine. Prof. Van Stryland is the president-elected of the OSA (Optical Society of America) and is the currently dean of the College of Optics and Photonics at the University of Central Florida (UCF). The celebrated scientist was described as one of the world’s leading experts in optics and photonics and it was noted that he won a $10 million grant from the state last year to create the new Florida Photonics Center of Excellence research center.

Since ICFO’s foundation, Prof. Van Stryland advises the ICFO Board of Trustees and the ICFO Director in the strategic decisions affecting the global development of the Institute.
